The GESLCC management would like to invite Juniors and women to Join the club and enjoy cricket in 2025.
The year 2024 ended with considerable progress and satisfactory development in the team. Since the past few years after the COVID-19 pandemic, GESLCC has faced a difficult period of bringing the team players back together. Some senior members have given up or moved to different clubs, and retired members have caused a lack of participation in the team.
We participated in T10 and T20 competitions with difficulties. Our main objective is to promote cricket, more than winning the games. The team had a few successes but was not able to reach the top of the tables. We toured Porto (weekend) and played a few friendly fixtures in Switzerland. All the players who participated in the 2024 season enjoyed themselves and are determined to continue playing and supporting the club in 2025.
GESLCC, one of the senior clubs in Geneva state, is planning to reorganize the club and the team to better function for the featured events and activities and to give opportunities for newcomers and Juniors.
We need to develop more Juniors/women’s cricket. Unfortunately, we are all facing a few obstacles to this attempt.
Due to the lack of ground facilities, the clubs cannot do much to develop Cricket in the region. At present, we are negotiating with the Geneva Authorities to get more facilities and flexibility regarding cricket development in the canton of Geneva.
We hope that cricket in Geneva will improve in the years to come. Especially GESLCC.
